ASUS Takes PAX East 2013 by Storm

ASUS ROG made a splash at PAX East 2013, which took place in Boston, MA, from March 22 to March 24. Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) is a series of gaming festivals, catering to tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers and is held both in Seattle and Boston. The event features tournaments, freeplay areas, game culture inspired concerts, panel discussions, an Omegathon event, and an exhibitor hall with independent and major game developers and publishers.

Visitors who stopped by the ASUS booth were able to view the latest ASUS products, play the hottest games, partake in numerous activities, and compete to win great prizes. Visitors could enter in the speed-building competition to build a PC as fast as possible (following a checklist for the change to win a GeForce GTX 660 Ti graphics card or a full set of components (overall winner). Attendees could play Crysis 3 on triple VG248QE monitors running on the GeForce GTX TITAN  and try out 2 PBA Maingear SKUs that were paired with the MX and VG monitors.

The latest ASUS products were showcased at the booth. Highlights include: the Taichi, the 11.6” convertible UltrabookTM that features full HD dual screens, the latest G Series gaming notebooks, the latest AndroidTM and Windows 8 tablets, as well as the innovative part tablet, part All-in-One PC, 18.4” Transformer AIO. Attendees were able to play Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition on either side of the TAICHI, utilizing the versatile full HD dual screens. Both the G75 and G46 notebooks were playing either Starcraft II heart of the Swarm or Hawken, demonstrating both ends of the G Seires spectrum. The 4 different types of ASUS tablets on display (Windows 8 based: ME400, TF810 (docking option with QWERTY keyboard), Android Based: ME301T and TF700(docking option with QWERTY)) demonstrated the variety of ASUS’ tablet lineup. While in Android tablet mode, the Transformer AIO was connected to an external display, the MX239H on Windows 8 simultaneously, to showcase how the Transformer AIO gives users both Windows 8 and Android flexibility.

The event was a great opportunity for ASUS to engage with members of the gaming community, promote the brand, and showcase its latest innovations.
